These include Nursing (all fields), Midwifery, Social Work, Paramedic Science, Operating Department Practitioner, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Diagnostic Radiography, Radiotherapy and Oncology, Dietetics and Art Psychotherapy.
We support practitioners to continue to develop their professional roles through our extensive continuing professional development portfolio, our graduates working in local, national, and international health and social care sectors.
Our research portfolio is cutting edge and applied, undertaking challenge-led collaborative interdisciplinary research, innovation and knowledge exchange to inform and transform health and social care. Job responsibilities

- Experience of teaching, training, or supervising undergraduate/postgraduate nursing or other healthcare professionals in either practice or academic settings.
- Current NMC registration as a Childrens Nurse and evidence of ongoing professional development.

Teaching and Learning
- Design and deliver, high quality and challenging learning experiences that equip students with the skills and knowledge required by employers.
- Teach specifically identified subjects and topics related to a defined area of work.
- Provide effective and efficient teaching to approved courses through lecture, seminar or tutorial modes of delivery.
- Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to students by setting and marking coursework, assignments and examinations.
- Contribute to the development of resource material.
- Ensure that appropriate learning materials are prepared in advance of delivery and assignments are undertaken by students in a timely manner
- Keep up-to-date with knowledge of your subject area.
- Develop a sense of purpose and harmonious working within assigned student groups.
- Provide appropriate academic, technical and pastoral care by supporting the work of individual students and referring them where appropriate, to relevant support staff.
- Act, when required, as tutor to a group of students, providing effective academic, technical and pastoral care.
- Work with colleagues in developing the provision within the faculty.
- Work within a team to promote the development of curriculum practices of benefit to students and the University
- Participate in appropriate quality assurance procedures of the faculty.
- Make a positive contribution to the overall development of the department and faculty
- Ensure the implementation of all University policies including those relevant to teaching, health and safety and quality assurance.

- Undertake administration and provide reports and statistics regarding student and teaching matters as required.
- Attend faculty meetings as required.

- Well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant from both an academic and professional perspectives relevant to childrens nursing and the health & social care agenda.
- Ability to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of stakeholders e.g. students and external clients from a wide range of backgrounds
- Ability to design and deliver transformative and innovative learning experiences
- Excellent numerical and quantitative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent team working skills and the ability to establish good working relationships
- Excellent planning and organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting demands and meet deadlines
- Technological/ digital proficiency
- Teaching experience within a higher education context, supervising undergraduate and postgraduate nursing or other healthcare professionals in a clinical practice or academic environment.
- Knowledge of how information technology can support educational delivery and learning
- Undertaking professional or academic project work e.g. research, creative or industrial projects, scholarship and / or knowledge transfer

- Good honours degree (i.e. UK 2.1 or 1st Class), or equivalent professional qualification or experience in a relevant discipline.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development
- Current relevant NMC Registration
- Doctorate or postgraduate qualification e.g. Master and / or substantial professional experience in a relevant discipline
