We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Counterbalance Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a counterbalance forklift to move, load, unload, and store goods while maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Safely operate a counterbalance forklift in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations.
* Load and unload deliveries from lorries and containers.
* Move stock to designated storage locations.
* Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch when required.
* Carry out daily forklift safety checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
* Ensure stock is handled carefully to prevent damage.
* Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock counts.
* Keep the warehouse clean, tidy, and free from hazards.
* Work collaboratively with warehouse staff to meet daily targets. Skills and Experience * Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT, or equivalent).
* Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
* Good understanding of warehouse health and safety practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Good communication skills.
* Basic numeracy and literacy skills. Desirable Qualifications * Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS).
* Additional forklift licences (Reach, Bendi, or PPT) are an advantage.
* Manual handling experience.
* Credited License Personal Attributes * Reliable and punctual.
* Safety-focused with a proactive attitude.
* Flexible and willing to assist with general warehouse duties.
* Able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines. Working Conditions: * Warehouse environment.
* May involve lifting, standing for long periods, and working shifts, including weekends if required.
* Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
