About The Role
We’re looking for a Street Lighting Maintenance Operative to join our Highways Street Lighting team on the HMC26 contract in Warwickshire . This is a hands-on operational role, delivering essential street lighting maintenance across the county and supporting adjacent contracts in Coventry and Solihull when required.
You’ll play a key part in ensuring highway lighting assets are safe, reliable and well maintained, working to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Service Delivery .
What you'll be doing
- Carrying out routine and cyclical street lighting maintenance
- Installing and replacing lighting columns, including excavation and ducting works
- Diagnosing faults with electrical equipment and completing effective repairs
- Responding to emergency call-outs, including in and out of hours
- Making sites safe and completing temporary or permanent repairs
- Supporting winter maintenance operations as required
- Completing work instructions via handheld devices
- Organising and controlling materials to support efficient delivery
- Ensuring all works are completed right first time and to required quality standards
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, subcontractors and the client
- Acting as a professional ambassador on site at all times

- Reporting close calls, hazards and good practice
- Embedding safe systems of work into all activities

- Previous experience on a street lighting maintenance contract
- L2 Winter Maintenance
- Class 2 Licence with CPC
- MEWP or HIAB
- Telescopic Handler
- EUSR 1 & 2
- NRSWA
