AHUK is the MoD's chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Helicopter Flying School (referred to as MFTS), located at RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey). Role Overview UK CAA B1.3 Licensed Aircraft Engineer at RAF Shawbury, Shropshire (base maintenance), reporting to the Base Maintenance Manager and supporting the MFTS operation. Permanent, full-time contract with Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd. Shift pattern (MFTS Base days): Monday to Thursday, 0730–1630 with a 30-minute unpaid break; Friday, 0700–1300; Saturday and Sunday off. Key Responsibilities Responsible for the delivery of serviceable aircraft to meet the requirements of the daily flying programme. Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and company procedures. Accomplish maintenance inspections and repairs as directed by Maintenance Supervisors. Complete maintenance to a high standard to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft. Supervise maintenance fitters and certify their work. Assist in the day-to-day running of the hangar, including aircraft movement and general housekeeping. Complete maintenance including airframe structure, power plant, mechanical systems, electrical systems and avionics systems. Requirements Working knowledge of UK CAA regulations including, but not limited to, Part 145, Part CAMO and the UK ANO. Experience in an aviation engineering environment. Ability to work as part of a team; self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills. Flexible to the requirements of the company and the needs of the customer. Operational resilience and collaborative problem-solving. Thorough knowledge of engine and airframe systems. Licences & Qualifications Essential: valid UK CAA Part-66 B1.3 licence. Preferably with one of the following type ratings, but not essential: Airbus EC135 T3H; Airbus BK117 D2. Type training will be provided. Fitter-to-LAE pathway Aircraft Avionics Technicians who are studying towards their UK CAA Part-66 B2 licence, who have completed at least 6 modules and have more than 3 years' experience documented in their experience logbooks, are also encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be enrolled onto the AHUK Fitter to LAE Development scheme.
