About the Practice
This fully independent small animal practice has been operating for over 12 years across two RCVS PSS-GP accredited branches in East Devon. It has built a loyal client base, excellent clinical facilities, and a team that genuinely looks out for one another — and it shows in everything they do.
The clinical team is impressive. You'll be working alongside a certificate holder in medicine and a diplomate European Specialist in medicine, with practice management support from someone with a background at one of the UK's most respected referral centres. The nursing team is equally strong and absolutely central to how the practice runs.
Both sites are well equipped with digital X-ray, Doppler ultrasound and digital tonometry. The Colyton site also has keyhole surgery facilities. Clinical spaces are clean, modern and genuinely pleasant to work in.
About the Role
This is a permanent position available full or part-time — and they mean it. Most of their vets work part-time, and the philosophy here is to build the role around the right person.
Standard consults are 20 minutes , giving you the time to properly work up cases, build real client relationships, and practise in a way that feels sustainable. There is no OOH at all , and weekend commitment is limited to a 1 in 4 Saturday morning consult rota only .

Practically speaking, the practice is around 25 minutes from Exeter Airport and the M5 motorway, making it well connected to the wider South West and beyond. Exeter city centre — with its mainline rail links to London Paddington (around 2 hours) and Bristol — is also easily accessible. Dartmoor is within an hour, and the South Devon coast is equally close. This is a genuinely exceptional part of the world to put down roots.
