Interim Community & Events Fundraising Manager

Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be supporting a leading healthcare charity based in Sheffield to recruit an Interim Community & Events Fundraising Manager. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, this role will provide leadership, continuity and momentum to the Charity's established Community & Events Fundraising team during a period of change. Key details: Salary: £38,000 - £45,000 per year Contract: Fixed-term (6 months) with the possibility of becoming permanent Hours: Full time, 37.5 per week Location: Sheffield Working pattern: Hybrid, 2 days a week in the office Closing date: Dynamic Reports to: Director of Fundraising Line reports: 3 About the role: This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading healthcare charity based in Sheffield at a busy and important time, taking responsibility for an established community, events and in-memory fundraising programme. You will provide clear, supportive leadership during a period of change, ensuring fundraising plans are delivered effectively, income and expenditure are well managed, and supporters and volunteers receive an excellent experience. The role will oversee a varied portfolio of activity, including community fundraising, owned and third-party events, in-memory giving and significant seasonal campaigns such as the Charity's Christmas programme and Tree Recycling campaign. We're looking for an experienced fundraiser and people manager who can get up to speed quickly, provide stability and keep delivery and performance on track. Key responsibilities Lead, support and motivate the Community & Events Fundraising team, providing clear priorities and stability during a period of change. Lead reforecasting and financial planning, including developing the fundraising activity plan for the next financial year and contributing to the Charity's wider five-year strategy. Oversee delivery of community, events and in-memory fundraising, ensuring activity is effectively planned, resourced and delivered against income targets. Monitor performance, budgets and KPIs, using data and insight to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement. Work closely with the Director of Fundraising and wider teams to strengthen supporter experience, improve ways of working and ensure fundraising activity complies with relevant regulations and organisational policies.About You You will bring substantial experience of community fundraising, with a strong understanding of events and supporter-led fundraising, alongside experience of managing teams, budgets and income targets. You will be: An experienced and supportive people manager, able to provide clear leadership and stability during a period of change Financially confident, with experience of managing budgets, reforecasting and planning fundraising activity Strategic in your thinking, with the ability to contribute to longer-term organisational and fundraising strategy while remaining closely involved in delivery Pragmatic and organised, able to quickly understand an established programme, identify opportunities for improvement and manage competing priorities Collaborative and confident, with the communication skills and judgement to work effectively with colleagues, supporters and volunteers across the organisationWe recognise that no candidate is likely to meet every requirement.
