Autism Teaching Assistant – Gateshead

Protocol Education is seeking a full-time Autism Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND school in Gateshead .
You will work closely with pupils with Autism, helping them overcome barriers to learning and develop their confidence, communication and independence.
What You'll Do
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support
- Support pupils with Autism and additional needs
- Assist with classroom learning
- Encourage communication and interaction
- Support emotional regulation
- Promote positive behaviour
- Follow individual learning plans
- Build trusting relationships
- Encourage independence
- Work closely with teachers and support staff

Experience isn't essential for the right candidate, although previous experience supporting children or young people with Autism or additional needs would be beneficial.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
