DBS Emirates Hills Curriculum
Our curriculum is modelled on the National Curriculum for England and adapted to our own international context, leading to a challenging set of GCSE, BTEC and GCE A Level courses from Year 10 to Year 13. Teacher of STEAM (Secondary)
Purpose of the Role
The Teacher of STEAM will deliver an engaging and innovative STEAM curriculum that develops students' creativity, curiosity, practical skills and problem-solving through hands-on, project-based learning.
This role would suit an outstanding secondary teacher from a wide range of subject backgrounds. It may particularly appeal to candidates with experience in Computer Science, Design Technology, Science, Mathematics or other STEAM-related disciplines. However, we welcome applications from any teacher with a passion for practical, innovative learning and a desire to inspire curiosity, creativity and problem-solving in young people.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering and continuing to develop our exciting STEAM programme, helping students apply knowledge from science, technology, engineering, design and mathematics to real-world challenges. Students design, build, test and refine solutions through collaborative projects, developing the creativity, resilience and innovation skills needed for the future.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
Deliver high-quality STEAM lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students.
Create practical, project-based learning experiences that encourage creativity, collaboration and problem-solving.
Guide students through the design process, from research and design to prototyping, testing, evaluation and refinement, using digital technologies where appropriate.

Curriculum Development
Contribute to the ongoing development of the STEAM curriculum, including opportunities to further develop digital technologies and Computing over time.

Keep curriculum content current through educational research, industry developments and emerging technologies.
Innovation and Enrichment
Lead or support STEAM clubs, enrichment activities and innovation projects.

Build partnerships with external organisations, universities or industry where appropriate to enrich students' learning experiences.
Collaboration
Work collaboratively with the STEAM Lead to deliver and further develop the school's STEAM programme.
