Salary Scale: £92 - £110 per day (Depending on experience) Support young people to thrive by promoting wellbeing, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping every learner reach their full potential! GSL Education are currently recruiting for a compassionate, proactive, and dedicated Pastoral Support Assistant to work across schools and educational settings in York and the surrounding areas. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting students' personal, social, and emotional development. Working closely with pastoral leaders, teachers, and families, you will help create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where young people feel valued, supported, and ready to learn. About the Role: As a Pastoral Support Assistant, you will provide targeted support to students who may be experiencing social, emotional, behavioural, or personal challenges. Through positive relationships and tailored interventions, you will encourage engagement, improve wellbeing, and help students overcome barriers to learning. Core Responsibilities of the Pastoral Support Assistant: * Provide one-to-one and small-group pastoral support to students requiring additional guidance
* Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and active engagement in school life
* Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams, and families to support individual student needs
* Monitor student wellbeing, attendance, and progress, maintaining accurate records where appropriate
* Support the implementation of pastoral and behaviour support strategies
* Contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment As the Ideal Pastoral Support Assistant, You Should Have: * Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, mentoring, pastoral care, or a similar support role
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people
* Ability to build positive, professional relationships with students, colleagues, and families
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload
* A genuine commitment to promoting student wellbeing, inclusion, and positive outcomes To Work with GSL Education, You Must: * Have the right to work in the UK
