About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team of Physics teachers in a dynamic department. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Physics education at our school, inspiring students to develop a deep understanding of the subject and a passion for scientific exploration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:
- Provide visionary leadership for the Physics department, setting clear direction and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Lead the development and implementation of a stimulating and challenging Physics curriculum.
- Oversee the recruitment, development, and performance management of the Physics teaching staff.
- Budget effectively to ensure the department has the necessary resources.
- Teaching and Learning:
- Contribute to the teaching of Physics across the curriculum, potentially including Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11).
- Foster a love of Physics in students and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and understanding to excel in the subject.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students reach their full potential.
Ideal Candidate:
- A highly qualified and experienced Physics teacher with a proven track record of leadership success.
- A deep understanding of the National Curriculum for Physics and a passion for innovative teaching methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- The ability to motivate and inspire students, fostering a love of Physics and scientific inquiry.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and develop a team effectively.
