  • Liaise with parents, local authorities, and external professionals

  • Monitor pupil progress and evaluate intervention programmes

  • Deliver professional development and guidance for school staff

  • Ensure compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and safeguarding requirements

The School Environment

The school combines ambitious academic expectations with exceptional pastoral support, ensuring every learner is encouraged to achieve their full potential.

The leadership team values collaboration, innovation, and continuous professional development. Staff benefit from outstanding facilities, excellent resources, and a supportive culture that promotes career progression and professional growth.

Candidate Requirements

Essential Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete it where applicable)

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND

  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a SENCO

  • Experience managing EHCPs and multi-agency partnerships

  • Proven success in improving outcomes for pupils with SEND
