SEN Learning Support Assistant

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a dedicated and supportive SEN Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils in the Salisbury area . This role involves supporting students with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, learning difficulties, communication needs, and social, emotional or behavioural challenges.

You will work closely with teaching staff to provide consistent and tailored support , helping pupils access the curriculum, remain engaged in lessons, and develop confidence throughout the school day. Support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis or within small groups, depending on the needs of each pupil.

• Provide 1:1 support and small‑group assistance for pupils with SEN
• Support pupils during lessons, activities, and daily routines
• Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour support
• Adapt learning tasks to meet individual needs
• Encourage independence, confidence, and engagement
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff
• Promote a calm, inclusive, and structured learning environment
• Follow safeguarding and school policies consistently

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals
• Calm, patient, and confident supporting additional needs
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Adaptable and responsive to changing situations
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Backgrounds in SEN, care, youth work, or support roles welcomed

• Position: SEN Learning Support Assistant
• Location: Salisbury
• Start Date: ASAP
• Working Pattern: Full‑time, term‑time
• Pay Rate: £14.25 - £15.66 per hour
• Key Stages: Primary / Secondary

• SEN or relevant child‑support experience desirable
• Safeguarding training can be provided
• Understanding of SEN strategies beneficial but not essential

• Free accredited CPD , including safeguarding & behaviour management
• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
