Multi - Media Officer

£30.33k per annum

Salary £30,333 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £32,613 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension

Location: Police Headquarters, Exeter

Type of employment: Permanent

Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need

About the role

Devon and Cornwall Police is looking for a Multi-Media Officer to join our progressive communications team. You'll be at the heart of producing compelling multimedia content for both public and internal projects, from corporate videos to social media campaigns.

  • Social Media Innovation : We’re forward-thinking when it comes to engaging the public. As a key part of our team, you'll help shape our social media presence, creating engaging, impactful content to enhance our public relations and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and edit multimedia content, including video, audio, and video graphics for public and internal use.
  • Travel across all regions of the Force, filming a wide variety of policing situations and activities.
  • Create compelling social media content that engages our communities and tells the stories behind our work.
  • Help produce PR videos and campaigns that enhance the Force’s reputation.
  • Use a range of filming equipment to capture dynamic footage.
  • Gain valuable experience in drone filming, enhancing your technical skills while capturing dynamic, aerial footage.

Who Are We Looking For?

You’re someone who:

  • Has graduated in media, film production, photography, or a related field—or you’re a self-taught digital content creator.
  • Has a strong passion for video production, photography, and social media.
  • Is excited to use industry-standard tools like Adobe Creative Suite or DaVinci Resolve Studio and can produce polished, professional multimedia content.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment, staying adaptable under pressure and tight timescales .
  • Loves the idea of travelling and filming across beautiful regions, capturing the reality of modern policing.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • A proven ability to create, edit, and deliver digital content across multiple platforms.
  • Demonstrable experience with photography, video production, and audio recording.
  • Knowledge of social media trends and how to use them to engage with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency with digital design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Experience using a wide variety of filming equipment.
