We have an exciting opportunity for a Teacher of Art to make a genuine difference in our student’s lives. You will be highly creative with a pass on to inspire and support students to explore, develop, and express their creativity through high-quality art education. This will include delivering engaging lessons at GCSE level and contributing to vocational pathways where NCFE and/ or AQA experience would be advantageous.

Working within a special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) setting, the teacher will adopt a holistic approach to learning, recognising the importance of social and emotional development alongside academic progress. You will be committed to promoting creativity as both a form of self-expression and wellbeing; helping students recognise its value as a potential future pathway. The successful candidate will create an inclusive, calm, and stimulating environment where students feel safe to experiment, take creative risks, and build confidence.

Qualified Teacher Status is required for this role as well as experience working within a school environment, ideally with children with SEND or SEMH needs. The role also includes leading and developing an art club, encouraging wider participation in creative activities and enriching students’ school experience. West Heath is working towards achieving the Arts Award, and the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting this development and embedding a strong culture of creativity across the school.
