Health Care Assistant

Job overview

Working with a supportive nursing team, you’ll provide essential care so that patients receive safe, timely and compassionate support.

You’ll play a key role in day-to-day patient care, helping people access checks, treatment and advice. Your work will support nurses and other professionals to deliver high-quality care and improve outcomes. You’ll also help keep clinics organised and running smoothly.

Main duties of the job

What you’ll do:

• Carry out health checks and clinical tasks such as blood pressure, ECGs and phlebotomy
• Support patients with care plans and record observations clearly
• Communicate with patients, families and colleagues with empathy and respect
• Prepare clinical rooms and ensure equipment is ready and stocked
• Input accurate patient information onto electronic records

What we’re looking for:

• Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care or similar experience
• Care Certificate or willingness to complete during induction
• Good basic IT skills and accurate record keeping
• Experience working in a healthcare setting or similar role
• Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
