Can you confidently manage a classroom and keep students focused when their regular teacher is unavailable?

GSL Education South Yorkshire Branch are seeking a confident and dependable Cover Supervisor (CS) to support a school in Doncaster. This role would suit someone who can establish clear expectations, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure students remain engaged with the work provided by their usual teacher.

Key Responsibilities of Cover Supervisor:

* · Take responsibility for maintaining effective classroom routines.
* · Follow lesson plans and instructions provided by the teaching staff.
* · Manage different groups of students confidently and fairly.
* · Encourage positive behaviour and active participation.
* · Deal appropriately with classroom issues and seek support when required.
* · Follow safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety procedures.

Requirements for the Cover Supervisor role:

* · Confident classroom or group management skills.
* · Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
* · A calm, consistent and professional approach.
* · Ability to work independently and use initiative.
* · Previous experience in a school, tutoring, youth work or similar environment is desirable.
* · Reliable, organised and punctual.
* · Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.
* · Understanding safeguarding and child protection as a CS is required.
