Registered Mental Health Nurse

£22.3 - £25.9 per hourEstimated
Full-time

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Ravenscraig Ward for an enthusiastic registered mental health nurse who is keen to enhance and develop their clinical skills within this environment. Ravenscraig Ward is a 23 bedded mixed sex acute admission psychiatric ward within Complex Critical Care Services. Admissions will routinely include adults experiencing an acute psychiatric crisis with associated significant risks to self or others which cannot be safely contained and managed in the community, thus necessitating psychiatric hospital admission typically on an urgent or emergency basis. The ward will also admit individuals with a co-morbid diagnosis of learning disability and/or neurdivergence as well as patients who are under 18 or over 65 when required.

As a pivotal member of the team, you should possess good interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and have genuine interest in working with this patient group.

The post holder will contribute to providing high quality evidence-based care and support to patients who experience a diverse range of mental health issues within the Acute Services. The post holder will provide care through a progressive patient focused approach, within a therapeutic environment that is underpinned by risk assessment and multidisciplinary working.

Ravenscraig Ward is a dynamic environment, and the ideal candidate should be motivated, work well as a member of the team and support a positive and therapeutic culture which is focused on the ever-changing needs of the patient group.

For further information and informal enquiries please contact Senior Charge Nurse Leanne Marlow ***email_hidden*** or Lead Nurse Lynne Black View email address on uk.workus.org or you can call the ward directly on View phone number on uk.workus.org

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your applicationbut your answers must be your own.

  • Show us the real you: Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
  • Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.
  • Why this matters: Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn. By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.

Tip: Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand younot an AI tool.
