Where will you be working? 

At M Group Highways, we’re supporting the safe transportation and movement of people across the UK.

You’ll be joining our Highways maintenance team in Devon, as the UK’s number one highway maintenance contractor, our teams use the latest innovations to create effective solutions. We offer a range of services including planned and reactive maintenance and highway improvement schemes.

What will you be doing?

You’ll complete a high level of manual work and be outdoors in all weathers.

You’ll undertake highways repairs, including potholes, patching, drainage, footways, and general highway maintenance.

You’ll use technology (tablets/apps) to input safety data and maintenance records.

You’ll be driving and operating plant and equipment when trained. Do you have experience with plant and equipment operation?

You will take responsibility for vehicles, plant, and materials in your charge.

We’ll train you to undertake winter and emergency maintenance out-of-hours activities on a standby rota.

What you’ll bring

• Willing to work in all weathers and unsociable hours as required and be available for out of hours emergency call outs
• UK driving licence
• Good numeracy and literacy skills
• CSC
• Team player
• Self motivated
• Practical ability
• A confident and professional manner
• Flexible with ability to undertake night work as required
• Good communication skills

Preferred but not essential

• Previous experience of work on the highway
• Experience/Certificated for operating small plant
• Traffic Management qualification
• NRSWA
• Clean driving licence
• LGV/HGV Driving licence
• Experience on Gully Pumps
