Here at the National Rehabilitation Centre (NRC) you will join an innovative, forward-thinking team with the collective objective of providing first class rehabilitation to our patients. Please come and join us as a Medicines Management Technician (MMT)- National Rehabilitation Centre if you wish to become part of our journey to creating a better future for rehabilitation patients. We are looking for a registered pharmacy technician with a recognised accuracy checking qualification and if you were successful you would become a key part of setting up and shaping the pharmacy service to this area going forwards and paving the future of rehabilitation in the UK. You will work with our pharmacists, medicines management assistant and other members of the multidisciplinary team to optimise the use of medicines at the NRC, making a real difference to patient safety, patient experience and satisfaction. Your contribution will be vital but not only that, you will be supported to grow and learn through our many developmental programmes at the NRC as well as to engaging in research and innovation. Planning for the NRC is in its advanced stages, and the building should be ready in 2026. This role will be temporarily based at Queens Medical Centre before moving over to the NRC. To improve and support the quality of patient care on admission and at discharge within the NRC, through the provision of a professional and effective medicines management service. This will include the assessment, and where suitable, re-use of patient's own medications, accurate and meticulous drug histories, thorough patient counselling, timely preparation of discharge prescriptions, one-stop dispensing and authorised self-checking, as well as supporting the ward teams with storage and security issues. The role involves the supporting dispensary when required and performing weekend duties. The shifted and bank holiday duties are as follows: To participate in departmental weekends, bank holidays and late duty working as required. At the time of advertising, the weekend rota encompasses 2 half-day shifts every 4/5 weeks at the City campus or 1 full day shift every 4 weeks at the QMC campus. About us

Training and Qualifications
- BTEC/NVQ level 3 in pharmaceutical sciences or equivalent
- General Pharmaceutical Council registered Pharmacy Technician
- Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (Accredited scheme or evidence of in-house validations)
- Medicine Management Assessments or Validations (accredited or proof of in-house training)
- Good level of computer literacy and word processing /keyboard skills
- Experience using electronic prescribing and medicines administration systems
- Experience in the admission/discharge processes within hospital pharmacy
- Experience of management and coordination of staff within hospital pharmacy
- Proven knowledge and experience in using computer labelling and stock control systems within hospital pharmacy
- Experience of undertaking incident investigations
- Experience of delivering staff training
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a wide range of staff and patients
- To communicate effectively, clearly and concisely complex or sensitive information relative to medicine management back to patients, staff and colleagues
