Join Schneider Electric as a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Engineer, ensuring our low-voltage switchboards, motor control centres, and control systems are delivered right first time and fully compliant with customer specifications before dispatch. This is a critical role where you'll combine technical expertise, customer engagement, and digital testing processes to guarantee quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Based within our manufacturing operations, you will be responsible for executing and witnessing FAT activities while driving continuous improvement in testing performance, documentation, and traceability. What will you do:
Plan, coordinate, and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for LV switchboards, motor control centres, and control systems.
Verify products meet customer specifications, approved drawings, and applicable industry standards.
Conduct functional, electrical, protection, and communication testing activities.
Lead customer witness testing and provide technical support throughout FAT activities.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve non-conformances, defects, and technical issues during testing.
Produce and maintain accurate FAT records, reports, test documentation, and digital quality records using systems such as LDS and DISS, ensuring full traceability and compliance.
Collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and project management teams to ensure timely project delivery.
Support root cause analysis and corrective actions to improve product quality and manufacturing performance.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, improve test efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, electrical safety, and quality standards.
Support customer audits, inspections, and site acceptance preparation activities where required. What will make you successful:
Proven experience in FAT, commissioning, testing, or electrical engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong understanding of LV switchgear, motor control centres, power distribution systems, and electrical control panels.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, GA drawings, and technical specifications.
Strong fault-finding, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience performing electrical testing in accordance with relevant standards and customer requirements.
Proficiency in digital manufacturing and quality systems, including experience with LDS, DISS, MES, ERP, or equivalent platforms for test recording, quality management, and product traceability.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality and Right-First-Time delivery.
Excellent communication skills with the confidence to lead customer witness testing and engage with internal stakeholders.
Proactive, structured, and results-oriented mindset.
Understanding of IEC/BS EN 61439 and other relevant electrical standards would be advantageous.
Degree, HNC/HND, Apprenticeship, or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline. What's in it for you:
