About the Client Services Team

Our Client Services team sits at the heart of service delivery, enabling EY to deliver complex, high-quality services for clients across the public sector. Bringing together specialists in programme delivery, commercial management, supplier management, compliance, governance, project management and operational support, the team is responsible for ensuring services are delivered efficiently, compliantly and to the highest standards of quality.

Working collaboratively across client-facing and internal functions, the team supports the full-service lifecycle, from mobilisation and delivery through to governance, reporting, continuous improvement and innovation. Together, we focus on creating exceptional client experiences, managing risk effectively and driving operational excellence across our Learning Framework contract.

Role Purpose

The PMO/SMO Senior Consultant will lead the Project Management Office for the Learning Framework and provide guidance on PMO policies and processes and collaborate with other department leaders to develop projects and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment

• Provide end-to-end coordination of new-joiners and leavers processes. 
• Track security clearances in accordance with the contractual obligations.
• Manage the access to relevant engagement SharePoint / Teams / relevant folders through onboarding and offboarding.

Performance Management

• Manage the regular EY Pulse survey, understanding the results and presenting findings to the wider team for review and action planning, maintaining an action log on same.
• Co-ordinate ESQ / ASQ requirements per internal EY processes.
• Co-ordinate the activity surrounding the bi-annual performance reviews, ensuring communications and activities are carried out in line with EY’s leadership guidance. 

Risk management

• Support the SLT in the management of a RAID for ongoing projects and delivery of project plans as required, reporting risks where appropriate.
• Support in the delivery of exit readiness, understanding what transition governance, risk management should be in place and mitigate risk where possible .

Governance 

• Monitor compliance with project management standards, policies, procedures, and templates by performing regular audits.
• Attend client meetings to represent EY and support updates aligned to deliverables.
• Continuously improve PMO & SMO services and processes through regular review and adaptation. Implement best practices, for example:
  • Data storage, knowledge management, transfer approach and readiness (where exit is applicable). 
  • Data - assess current state of data storage in the team and perform gap analysis against contractual and EY requirements.
  • Engagement filing and archiving – what, where and how? Building relationships with the Quality & Risk Management team and General Counsel team.
  • Knowledge management – assess which templates, process, applications are needed to capture knowledge to support other Learning Framework contracts.

Reporting

• Support on the delivery of the monthly governance decks, collaborating with the MI time to ensure timely review and delivery to the client.
• Lead the establishment and maintenance of meeting cadence, internally and externally with the client, ensuring that delivery timelines for slide decks are adhered to and where delays this is flagged appropriately.

Complaints

• Lead on customer complaints, liaising with the Supplier Management team / Account Managers where appropriate to compile the details in order to resolve and capture lessons learned.
• Be responsible for providing a complaints deep-dive on a quarterly basis to be shared in client forums and present on same.
• Support in the delivery of a Quality Improvement Framework in conjunction with the Delivery Director.

Event Management 

• Supporting the organisation of events for internal and external events for both client and EY  including annual social events.

Required Skills & Experience:

Essential Criteria

• Experience working within a Project Management Office (PMO), Service Management Office (SMO), business transformation function, or a similar delivery support environment.
• A collaborative approach with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyse, organise and present information effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to a range of stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to demanding deadlines.
• Proven experience working effectively in a fast-paced operational or delivery-focused environment.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and identify when issues need to be escalated.

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working within a managed services, outsourced services, or other complex client delivery environment.
• A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, AgilePM, APM, or equivalent.
• Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP), engagement management, risk management, or similar business systems.
• Experience supporting programme, project, or transformation governance processes.
• Understanding of project management methodologies and delivery frameworks.
