Location: Bristol (Hybrid)
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time or Part-time
Salary: £65,000 to £75,000

A leading national law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Employment Lawyer to join its established Employment team, with the option to be based in either Bristol. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior practitioner with strong technical expertise and proven leadership experience to take on a key role within a large, well structured department.

The Role

You'll join a sizeable employment group handling a broad mix of claimant and respondent work for legal expenses insurers, businesses, consumers and institutions. This role combines high quality fee earning with team leadership responsibilities and offers a clear pathway into senior management and partnership.

You'll be responsible for:

• Managing your own caseload of employment matters
• Providing strategic, technical and practical guidance to the wider team
• Leading, supervising and mentoring Solicitors and Paralegals
• Auditing cases to ensure consistently high standards
• Managing performance and supporting team development
• Handling complaints and liaising with Compliance where required
• Assisting with recruitment for the group
• Representing the team internally and externally to build strong working relationships
• Supporting the Group Leader in driving profitability and best practice

Hybrid working is available, with flexibility around working patterns for those seeking full time or part time arrangements.

Candidate Requirements
This role is suited to a senior Employment specialist with:

• Qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister, FCILEx or extensive equivalent experience
• Significant experience across the full spectrum of employment law
• Strong background in both claimant and respondent work
• Proven experience leading, supervising and developing employment lawyers
• Ability to manage complex tribunal litigation
• Experience working with both lay clients and insurer clients
• Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• A commercial, solutions focused approach
