Manual Machinist – Aerospace Manufacturing
Wild Recruitment is partnering with a leading Aerospace manufacturer to recruit an experienced Manual Machinist . This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team in a precision engineering environment.
Contract: Until July 2027
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual machine tools including Jig Bores, lathes, and mills .
- Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and specifications .
- Manufacture and rework components to tight tolerances and surface finishes .
- Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, height gauges, DTI’s).
- Carry out routine machine maintenance and cleaning .
- Accurately complete production and quality documentation .
- Collaborate with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering teams to ensure compliance with design intent and customer requirements.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Manual Machinist / Toolmaker in precision engineering or aerospace .
- Skilled in working with various materials and castings .
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings .
- Familiarity with AS9100 standards (preferred).
- Competent in using precision measuring equipment .
- Strong attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset .
- Flexible, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team .
- Apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
