About the Role

* Teaching Assistant (Level A) - Intervention Team - Secondary School based
* Full-time position - 37 hours per week
* Working with students outside of mainstream classes, delivering targeted intervention support
* Supporting individuals and small groups to improve engagement, learning and progress
* Managing a caseload of students and recording intervention outcomes to demonstrate measurable progress
* Supporting the Inclusion Team as required, demonstrating flexibility across the school
* Assisting with the delivery of tailored learning and behavioural support
* Building positive relationships with students to promote confidence, wellbeing and achievement

Person Specification

To be considered for this role, candidates must have/be able to demonstrate:

* Experience of working with children and young people.
* Strong administrative and organisational skills.
* A sound understanding of how children learn and how to support their development.
* The ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
* A minimum of GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent Functional Skills Level 2), a Level 2 NVQ/CACHE/BTEC qualification, or an Experienced Exemption (two years' referenceable school-based employment).
* Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
