Site Manager

£27.52k - £29.54k per annum
Full-time

Bonneygrove Primary School

Full time: 37hrs per week

Hours: 7.00-11.00 and 14.30-18.00

"Not all superheroes wear capes... some carry a bunch of keys, a radio and know exactly where the stopcock is."

Can you fix a door before anyone notices it's broken?

Can you spot a loose roof tile from fifty metres away?

Do you secretly enjoy colour-coding keys?

Have you ever uttered the words...
"I'll just grab my toolbox..."

If you've answered yes, then keep reading...

Bonneygrove Primary School is looking for an exceptional Site Manager who takes genuine pride in their work and understands that a safe, clean and welcoming environment allows children to flourish.

This isn't just about changing light bulbs (although there will be plenty of those!).

We're looking for someone who becomes the heartbeat of the school site.

Someone who knows every corner of the building.

Someone who can turn a disaster into "it's already sorted."

Someone who can smile whilst being interrupted seventeen times before 9.30am.

Because that's school life.

What you'll actually be doing

No two days are ever the same.

One moment you'll be checking the boilers...

  • Playground inspections

  • Fencing

  • Gates

  • Litter collection

  • Supporting outdoor learning spaces

  • Ensuring our wonderful woodland remains safe for children to enjoy.

Compliance

You'll become the guardian of compliance.

You'll maintain records for:

  • Fire Safety

  • Water Hygiene

  • Electrical Testing

  • Gas Safety

  • PAT Testing

  • Playground Inspections

  • Security

  • Health & Safety

  • Contractors

  • Risk Assessments

  • Building Maintenance

Nothing gets missed.

Managing contractors

You'll organise and supervise contractors, ensuring work is completed safely, on time and to a high standard.

No disappearing builders.

No mysterious invoices.

No unfinished jobs.

Supporting school life

Sports Day?

You'll be there.

Parents Evening?

Probably there too.

Christmas Production?

Definitely helping move staging.

Snow?

Everyone looks at you...

(We apologise in advance.)

We're looking for someone who...

✔ Loves solving problems

✔ Can turn their hand to almost anything

✔ Takes pride in immaculate surroundings

✔ Understands safeguarding is everyone's responsibility

✔ Is calm under pressure

✔ Can prioritise

✔ Has excellent organisational skills

Essential

  • Experience in premises or facilities management

  • Excellent DIY and maintenance skills

  • Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation

  • Good IT skills

  • Ability to prioritise workloads

  • Experience working in schools

  • Knowledge of Hertfordshire compliance requirements

What you'll get in return

A school where people genuinely appreciate what you do.

Children who will wave every morning.

Staff who'll know exactly where to find you...

Usually because they've lost a key.

You'll become part of a friendly, ambitious team committed to giving children the very best environment in which to learn. Bonneygrove Primary School is part of the Bonneygrove and Millbrook Primary Federation, where staff work collaboratively to provide an outstanding experience for every child.

Safeguarding

Bonneygrove Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, online searches and all safer recruitment checks in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education.

The small print (but the important bit)

You won't just be maintaining buildings.

You'll be creating an environment where over 400 children feel safe, inspired and proud to come to school every single day.

If you're looking for a job where every day matters...

...where no two days are the same...

...and where you'll finish each day knowing you've made a real difference...

we'd love to meet you.
