Salary Range: £33,178 - £36,369 per annum
Work Location: Civic Offices, Farnborough or Sharps Copse Children and Families Centre, Havant (Hybrid Working)
Hours per week: 37 (part-time hours will be considered)
Contract Type: Temporary until March 2029
Closing Date: 20 September 2026
The Role:
As a Neurodiversity & Wellbeing Practitioner , you'll play a vital role in supporting families of children and young people with emerging or known neurodivergence to access the right help at the right time. Working as part of the Hampshire Neurodiversity and Wellbeing Multidisciplinary Team (ND MDT), you'll help families navigate services, access resources and develop strategies that improve wellbeing, daily life and educational experiences.
You'll be part of an innovative service driving a shift from a diagnosis-led approach to a needs-led model. Working closely with families, schools and partner organisations, you'll help ensure children and young people receive timely, holistic support based on their strengths and individual needs, while promoting inclusive practices that enable neurodivergent learners to thrive.
What you’ll do:
- Provide practical support, guidance and signposting to families and professionals who have concerns about a child or young person's potential neurodivergence.
- Act as a key link between families, schools and partner agencies, helping to coordinate support and build positive, collaborative relationships.
- Support schools to strengthen inclusive practice, improve attendance and reduce barriers to learning for neurodivergent pupils.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary working, including support planning and participation in MDT reviews as this aspect of the service develops.
- Promote early intervention and needs-led approaches that help identify strengths, understand support needs and improve outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
- A relevant qualification and experience in teaching, mental health, therapies, social care, family support, psychology or a related field.
- Experience supporting children, young people and families, ideally with a range of needs across the spectrum of neurodivergence, SEND, and family support contexts.
- Knowledge of neurodevelopmental conditions, including Autism, ADHD, Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD) and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
- Excellent communication and partnership-working skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide clear, practical guidance.
- A positive, proactive and neuro-affirmative approach, with a commitment to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.
