We are supporting a number of schools and school federations across Yorkshire who require additional Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants on an ad-hoc basis.

This is a flexible opportunity for experienced teaching assistants who can support schools on different days and, where possible, respond to short-notice requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide one-to-one or small-group support to pupils with additional needs

* Support pupils to access learning and classroom activities

* Promote positive behaviour, confidence and independence

* Work alongside teachers and Special Educational Needs Coordinators

* Follow individual support plans and school policies

* Help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment

Requirements

* Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills

* Patient, adaptable and supportive approach

* Relevant qualifications or experience

* Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare

* Flexibility to work across different schools and locations in Yorkshire

Compliance Requirements

* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check, including relevant barred-list checks where required

* Disclosure and Barring Service Update Service registration preferred

* Three contactable professional references covering the last five years

* Right to Work in the United Kingdom

* Evidence of relevant qualifications and training

* Full employment history as required for safeguarding checks

* Completion of all required compliance checks before starting an assignment
