What skills and experience we're looking for
Hathersage St. Michael’s CE (A) Primary School is looking to appoint an excellent, positive and highly motivated Teaching and Learning Assistant on a full time basis to work primarily 1-1 with a pupil currently in Reception and due to go into Year 1 next academic year. On some afternoons, you will support pupils across school with developing foundational skills. We are a friendly, happy, school family with a supportive staff team and well-motivated children who are eager to engage and learn. We are looking for; • A calm, compassionate and kind individual.• An individual who has some understanding of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, especially with pupils with limited communication skills.
• Someone who is keen to learn from others to ensure the best support is in place for pupils.
• Someone who is self-led and uses their initiative.
• An individual who has a proven track record of enabling pupils to make progress.
• An individual who has an understanding of the EYFS and supporting learning within continuous provision
• Someone who has a proven track record of delivering and scaffolding support within the classroom environment. The role will involve providing pupil support on a one-to-one basis, within small groups, as well as supporting pupils in whole class teaching sessions. There may also be the opportunity at times to follow the class teacher’s planning to lead the class to cover for meetings. Part of this role includes allocated time to support pupils over lunchtime.
