Are you an experienced, hands-on E/I Technician looking for a stable Monday-Friday role with no shifts or call-outs? We're working closely with a well-established manufacturing site in the Cwmbran area that is expanding its maintenance capability and looking for someone who enjoys practical instrumentation work in a planned-maintenance environment. This is a great opportunity to join a supportive engineering team where your skills will make a real impact. You'll be part of a wider maintenance team of around 16, focusing primarily on instrumentation work (around 75%) with some electrical responsibilities (around 25%). The site is well-organised, safety-driven, and operates with a strong planned-maintenance culture. Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and resolving instrumentation and electrical faults during plant issues
- Installing, commissioning, and maintaining control and measurement systems (pressure, level, temperature etc.)
- Calibrating instrumentation using modern tools and software
- Working on hazardous-area equipment in line with relevant regulations
- Supporting electrical tasks such as 415V motor work, lighting, and cable management
- Keeping accurate maintenance records and updating engineering drawings when required
- A time-served apprenticeship or qualification in electrical or instrumentation
- Strong fault-finding skills and a methodical approach
- Hands-on experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or process environment
- A commitment to safe working and high-quality standards
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with systems such as SAP or calibration software (training can be provided)
- DSEAR/ATEX or explosive-atmosphere experience
- Apprenticeship background
- Broader exposure to hazardous-area equipment
- Monday-Friday days (8am-4pm), no shifts, no call-outs
- Stable, well-run site with strong investment in maintenance
- Supportive team of 16 with a collaborative culture
- Planned-maintenance environment rather than constant firefighting
- Immediate start available due to a backfill requirement
