Ophthalmic and Breast Theatre Speciality Manager

Working Full time: 37.5 hours per week

This exciting opportunity has arisen within the Operating Theatre Department at the Countess of Chester Hospital. The successful candidate with be responsible for the operational management of the Ophthalmology and Breast Surgery Theatres. Elective and emergency surgeries are carried out in Main and Day surgery theatres.

Ophthalmic Theatre Team do provide an on call service for out of hours emergency procedures.

You will also be involved in the daily running of the Operating Theatre Department in the Manager of the Day or Coordinator role ensuring productivity, efficiency and effective use of the theatre environment.

To lead a competent theatre team delivering a safe, efficient and effective service, meeting demands while showing best use of all resources (staffing, physical and financial).

Development and improvement of theatre services. Overseeing and managing risk and incidents within the area.

Being responsible for maintaining health, safety and security of self and others while implementing best practice.

Attending Daily Safety Brief + Look Back Theatre Utilisation meetings in the Manager of the Day role.

Be aware of and manage speciality budget.

• Ellesmere Port Hospital: providing 60 beds as a rehabilitation, intermediate and outpatient facility.
