Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated, innovative, forward thinking nurse who possess' the leadership qualities to manage and support our busy haematology day unit. You will provide expert clinical knowledge and judgment for our staff and patients. You will be expected to co-ordinate the unit safely and effectively and be willing to have a "hands on" approach in providing high quality care, whilst being visible and approachable on the unit at all times. This is a permanent position and you will be supported by the unit manager and clinical matron. Main duties of the job

- 2.1 Ensure all policies are implemented and information disseminated to the clinical team.
- 2.2 Maintain a healthy, safe and productive work environment
- 2.3 Ensure products and services meet quality requirements
- 2.4 Adhere to the Trusts policies, procedures and guidelines
- 2.5 The post holder must comply with all relevant policies, procedures and training on infection prevention and control.
- 2.6 Ensure all clinical staff attend annual mandatory updates and maintain records of attendance.
- 3.1 Assess and agree patients requirements
- 3.2 Plan activities to meet patients requirements
- 3.1 Agree service requirements with Ward Manager /Matron.
- 3.2 Identify, plan and amend service requirements in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
- 3.3 Maintain a healthy, safe and productive working environment in line with legal, organisational and Nursing & Midwifery Council requirements.
- 3.4 Monitor the quality of nursing services and the products used.
- 3.5 Ensure that all policy and procedure relating to infection prevention and control is implemented.
- 5.1 Identify opportunities for improvements in nursing practice as highlighted through evidence and research-based practice.
- 5.2 Agree the introduction of change.
- 5.3 Plan the implementation of changes in work methods and practice.
- 5.4 Evaluate the impact of changes on standards of patient care.
B1. Support the efficient use of resources
- 1.1 Make recommendations for the use of resources.
- 1.2 Contribute to the control of resources.
- 2.1 Plan the use of physical resources.
- 2.2 Support the deployment of physical resources.
- 2.3 Obtain resources, staff and non-staff.

- 2.5 Maintain the supply of physical resources.
