Job summary
We are delighted to introduce psychology across our all-age Home Treatment Teams as part of the service delivery model designed to enhance community-based crisis care and improve outcomes for people over 18 years who are experiencing a mental health crisis. This is a unique opportunity to shape and develop psychology provision within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, bringing a psychological perspective to crisis intervention, recovery-focused care, and admission avoidance pathways. As a newly established role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence service development, strengthen psychological leadership within the team, and contribute to the future direction of home treatment services. As the Senior Psychologist within the team, you will be providing expert psychological assessment, formulation, and interventions for people who are experiencing an acute mental health crisis and their families. Your psychologically informed interventions will support recovery, resilience, and wellbeing, helping individuals to better understand and manage their difficulties. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support people to remain at home during a crisis and facilitate timely discharges from hospital where appropriate. Promoting health and independence for people who use our services and their carers/support staff by delivering high quality psychology assessments, formulation and interventions; providing consultation, supervision and guidance to band 7, to trainees, assistant psychologists and others as required. - To assess, plan, implement and evaluate the psychological needs of people using our services.
- To promote a psychological perspective both within teams and sharing with other colleagues.
- To lead on complex and challenging cases and develop expertise within area of specialism.
- To work collaboratively with team managers/ Clinical leads in the development and delivering of effective services.
- To mentor, supervise and teach qualified and unqualified staff including students.
- To leading on a specific service development projects.
Qualifications
Essential
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology qualification or equivalent
- Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course to enable supervision of trainees (or completion within 6 months of commencement in post)
- Holds a drivers lincense and has access to a vehicle for work purposes

- HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist

- Experience across a range of psychological models including systemic, behavioural and individual therapeutic
- Demonstrable post registration/clinical experience and competency relevant to this care group
- Experience of contributing to clinical practice/service development / project work.
- Experience of supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists
