About the Role

Flannery Plant Hire is currently seeking an experienced Wheeled Excavator Operator to support our growing operations across major infrastructure and construction projects.

This role involves the safe and efficient operation of wheeled excavators in a range of environments, including highways, urban projects, and large-scale civil engineering works. You will play a key role in ensuring work is completed to a high standard while maintaining strict health and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate a wheeled excavator safely and efficiently in line with site requirements

• Carry out tasks such as excavation, trenching, lifting, grading, and material handling

• Work in confined or high-traffic environments, including highways and urban areas

• Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance inspections on equipment

• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with site safety regulations and method statements

• Communicate effectively with banksmen, site supervisors, and other operators

• Follow instructions from site management while maintaining awareness of changing site conditions

• Report any defects, incidents, or near misses promptly

• Assist with general site duties where required

Requirements

Essential

• Valid CPCS or NPORS Wheeled Excavator ticket

• Proven experience operating wheeled excavators on construction or infrastructure projects

• Good understanding of health and safety on construction sites

• Ability to work safely in busy or restricted environments

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Desirable

• Experience on highways or urban infrastructure projects

• Lifting operations experience (e.g. lifting ops endorsement)

• Additional plant tickets (e.g. dumper, roller)

• Valid CSCS card
