This role offers the opportunity to take ownership and influence outcomes in the delivery of complex projects.

What you’ll be doing

• Develop and manage construction programmes that are realistic, contractually compliant and reflect site delivery requirements.

• Produce and maintain NEC3/NEC4 programmes for submission, acceptance and ongoing project reporting.

• Monitor site progress, identify delays and work with project teams to implement mitigation strategies.

• Review compensation events and programme impacts, providing evidence to support contractual claims.

• Support commercial teams with programme-related input for resource and cost planning.

• Develop tender programmes and support pre-construction activities.

• Build effective relationships with site teams, clients and stakeholders, providing clear programme updates and forecasts.

• Support junior planners and contribute to a collaborative planning function

What we’re looking for

• Relevant experience as a Planner within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction projects.

• Proven ability to develop, manage and monitor project programmes throughout the project lifecycle.

• Strong understanding of programme management and construction project delivery.

• Experience working with operational, commercial and client teams to support successful delivery.

• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

• Ability to work collaboratively, take ownership and support continuous improvement.

Desirable:

• Background in engineering, site management or project management.

• Understanding of NEC contracts and contractual programme requirements.

• Experience using P6 and/or Microsoft Project.

• Experience delivering a range of civil engineering projects

Why join Knights Brown

• Real engineering work – deliver complex infrastructure projects that make a difference.

• Direct delivery model – work within engineering-led teams that own and control project delivery.

• Ownership and delivery – influence project outcomes through effective planning and programme management.

• Scale and opportunity – work across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout the UK.

• A place you belong – join straightforward teams that support each other, speak openly and take pride in delivery

Location & travel

• Based from our Bridgend office.

• Regular travel to project sites across the UK.

• Flexibility may be available depending on candidate location.
