At David Ross Education Trust, a Multi Academy Trust operating 36 secondary and primary schools, everything we do is built around one thing: impact.
We’re not just running campaigns or posting content - we’re building a brand that shapes communities, empowers people and creates real change through education and beyond.
About the Role
We have an internship opportunity - for the summer of 2026 or up to 12 months.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an intern with a genuine instinct for digital communication and a strong understanding of how people engage online.
This is not simply a behind-the-scenes marketing placement - we are looking for someone who naturally notices trends, understands what makes content resonate, enjoys creating engaging social media content, and is curious about how digital channels can help schools connect with students, families, staff and local communities.
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-moving environment where digital storytelling has real impact. We would particularly welcome applications from students who are active users of social media platforms, have a creative eye for content, and are excited by the challenge of helping schools tell their stories in fresh and engaging ways.
As a Digital Marketing intern, you’ll join our head office team and are expected to get stuck in, thinking of innovative and creative ways to share our values and mission. We have multiple marketing projects which sit across lots of our Trust.
Once you have been selected, we use the feedback from your interview to match you up to a role where you will thrive the most! This could be a role that is focused primarily on social media, or on education marketing, or even on a more commercially focused marketing role.
You’ll be working on your own live projects and briefs, where you’ll be supporting on brand initiatives and working closely with our partner agency.
We’re looking for someone who is driven by purpose : Someone who wants to create, grow and be part of something meaningful : Someone who wants to empower and make an impact.
Day-to-day ...
From content and campaigns to storytelling and strategy, you’ll be part of something that is growing and making a difference.
You’ll be responsible for managing social media across all our academies, creating content, filming, editing and capturing day-to-day moments that bring our work to life.
You’ll also be expected to come up with ideas, lead on creative direction, and drive collaborations that expand our reach and impact.
You’ll be helping us connect with audiences in a real and authentic way.
In order to be successful in this role you will have:
- A keen interest and instinct for digital communication and an understanding of what drives engagement
- Sense of initiative and problem solving
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- An ability to work to deadlines whilst under pressure
- Proactivity, with a keen eye for improved efficiency
- Strong attention to detail
- Good all-round performer with emphasis on creativity and numerical skill.
- Able to work autonomously
