The Opportunity..

An established national contractor is looking to appoint an ambitious Estimator to join its Birmingham office. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of projects across both public and private sector clients, with tender values ranging from £1m to £50m.

The successful Estimator will play a key role within the pre-construction team, taking responsibility for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates across a wide range of construction projects including public sector frameworks (DfE), Defence and MOJ to private sector developments such as residential and commercial schemes.

The Role..

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions from first principles.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation. 
• Producing bills of quantities and take-offs. 
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations. 
• Managing the tender process from enquiry through to submission. 
• Identifying value engineering opportunities and commercial risks. 
• Liaising with internal departments, clients, consultants and supply chain partners. 
• Attending tender review meetings and site visits where required. 
• Using Conquest estimating software to produce accurate cost plans and tender pricing.

Key Requirements..

• Previous experience working as an Estimator for a main contractor. 
• Experience pricing projects ranging upwards of £10m. 
• Proficient in Conquest estimating software. 
• Strong communication and negotiation skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines.
