Veterinary Surgeon

Veterinary Surgeon Small Animal Practice Gillingham Area, Kent A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal practice in the Gillingham area. This role is ideal for a vet with 2+ years' experience who is confident with both routine and emergency surgery and is looking for a role with a strong surgical caseload and clinical variety. This position has become available due to a recent departure and offers the chance to join a busy, supportive team with an excellent mix of consulting, surgery, and emergency work. Benefits Overview

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality veterinary care across a varied small animal caseload
• Perform routine and emergency surgical procedures
• Manage a balance of consultations and surgical cases (approximately 50/50 split)
• Work collaboratively with a large, experienced clinical team
• Provide short periods of sole charge at the beginning or end of shifts
• Maintain excellent standards of patient and client care

Working Pattern

• Flexible working options: 3, 4, or 5 days per week
• Full-time equivalent: 37.5 hours per week
• Shift patterns include: Early shift: 8:00am 4:30pm, Late shift: 9:30am 6:30pm
• 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:00am 12:00pm)
• No requirement for full out-of-hours work

Key Skills, Qualifications and Requirements

• BVSc or equivalent qualification recognised in the UK
• RCVS registration (or eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years' experience in small animal practice
• Confident in routine and emergency surgery
• Comfortable with a varied caseload and occasional sole charge
• Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
