Asset Risk Placement

What you’ll be doing

As a Placement Data Analyst, you’ll be joining the Asset Risk department and gain hands-on experience in data, analytics, and insight within a commercial environment. Asset Risk is responsible for customer pricing decisions and forecasting key financial risks, including Residual Value, SMR, Insurance, and Economic Capital.

You’ll be part of our Data Analytics & Insights team, helping to ensure our data is reliable, trusted, and interconnected. You’ll support day-to-day operations, contribute to projects, and develop the skills to turn complex data into stories that give stakeholders clarity and confidence in their decisions.

During your placement you will:

• Deliver and present reports, dashboards, and insights, collaborating with colleagues to transform data into clear, impactful narratives and decisions.
• Learn and develop your skills in data analytics and emerging AI technologies, gaining hands-on experience with tools such as Snowflake (SQL & Python), Power BI, Excel and ChatGPT, Copilot, and Cortex.
• Support the operational elements of our Data Governance Framework, helping monitor and maintain data quality.
• Assist in managing datasets that underpin key Asset Risk activities, learning how these drive decisions across the department.
• Work alongside experienced analysts and managers, receiving mentorship, training, and opportunities to develop both your technical and professional skills.

Location and hours

Bristol, 35 hours, three days in the office

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

• Curious and eager to learn—you're keen to understand how data drives business decisions.
• Analytical— you enjoy problem-solving and working with numbers.
• You're keen to communicate and share your work through written and verbal communication, including presentations.
• Adaptable— you're comfortable with change and open to trying new approaches.
• A proactive team player—collaborative, supportive, and motivated.
• Has some exposure to data through coursework, internships, or work experience.
• Keen to develop and build on their experience using these tools—SQL, Python, or visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau).

Who you’ll be working with

You will collaborate with colleagues across Asset Risk—building relationships, learning how data connects across the business, and contributing to insights that help shape strategic decisions.

Minimum criteria

• Studying in the second year of your degree that includes a year in industry, and eager to start a placement in July 2027
• Excited to join us in our London office at least three days a week
• Confidence with Excel and an interest in developing data skills.
• An enthusiasm for data, analytics, and learning new tools and techniques that you may have used in coursework

3. Virtual Interview
   1. You will meet with one of our Early Careers Recruitment team
   2. These interviews aim to take place between 28th to 29th November 2026
4. Assessment Centre
   1. You will be invited to attend a final stage assessment centre, which typically involves an interview with the two assessors and an activity which you will need to prepare for
   2. The assessment centre is a whole day with us in our Bristol office
   3. The assessment centre for this role is 24th November 2026
   4. If you are successful at the Assessment Centre stage, you will be offered the role to begin 5th July 2027.
