Transport Manager, Sheffield
£50k per annumOur client is a fast-growing, family-run waste management business that has experienced significant growth in recent years and continues to invest in both its people and operations. Due to continued expansion, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Transport Manager to take ownership of the transport function and support the next phase of growth.
Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the transport operation, ensuring compliance, efficiency and high service standards across the fleet. You will be continually looking for opportunities to improve performance, utilisation and operational effectiveness.
The Key Details:
- Location: Sheffield
- Salary: Up to £50,000
- Hours: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
Transport Manager Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop the transport team.
- Ensure full compliance with operator licence requirements and transport legislation.
- Oversee route planning and fleet utilisation.
- Monitor driver performance and fleet efficiency.
- Manage transport KPIs and operational performance.
- Ensure all vehicle and driver documentation remains compliant.
- Support business growth through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with senior management to develop the transport function.
Transport Manager Requirements
- Transport Manager CPC qualification.
- Previous experience managing transport operations.
- Strong understanding of transport compliance and legislation.
- Experience leading and developing teams.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
