Commercial Analyst

Robert Half Technology are assisting a high-growth AI technology business to recruit a Commercial Analyst on a 6-month contract basis. Hybrid working - 3 days per week onsite in London.

Role

• The Commercial Analyst will work closely with the Data & Revenue Operations team to provide data, insights and analysis to optimise revenue-generating processes and support commercial decision-making.
• Build and maintain reports, dashboards and analytical tools using Excel, Power BI and AWS to support Sales, Marketing, Customer and Finance teams.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders and C-suite executives on commercial reporting and analysis, including pipeline reporting, close/lost analysis and board reporting.
• Analyse commercial and revenue data to identify trends, opportunities, risks and areas for improvement.
• Support revenue forecasting, scenario planning and performance analysis to help steer revenue strategy.
• Translate complex datasets and business requirements into clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
• Work collaboratively with Data and Revenue Operations teams to improve reporting processes, data quality and operational efficiency.
• Support the development and optimisation of revenue operations processes and tools.
• Investigate business problems, using data and structured analysis to identify solutions and drive better commercial outcomes.
• Ensure reporting and analysis is accurate, timely and aligned with business requirements.

Profile

• The Commercial Analyst will have strong data analysis experience, with demonstrable expertise in at least two of AWS/Athena (SQL), Power BI and advanced Excel.
• Strong SQL skills, ideally with experience of AWS Athena, Glue, S3 and Lambda.
• Strong Power BI and/or advanced Excel experience, including building reports, dashboards and analytical models.
• Experience working within commercial finance, revenue operations, sales operations or a similar analytical environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and a genuine curiosity to understand business problems and use data to solve them.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and managing requirements across multiple teams.
• Experience with revenue operations tools such as Salesloft, BoardEx, ZoomInfo, Gong or PlanHat would be advantageous.
• Experience working within a high-growth, technology or post-acquisition environment would be beneficial.
