Screening Nurse Occupational Health and Wellbeing

We are seeking outstanding candidates with a passion for Public Health Nursing to join our Occupational Health (OH) team. As a key member of the service, you will play an important role in promoting and protecting the health of our workforce. Applicants must hold a registered nurse qualification and demonstrate excellent organisational skills, the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality. In this pivotal role, you will provide clear, impartial advice to managers and employees, helping to significantly enhance workplace health and wellbeing. You will follow guidance from governing bodies, deliver proactive health screening, and play a key part in preventing work-related injuries. As an Occupational Health Screening Nurse , you will be an integral member of our dynamic organisation, working within a multi-disciplinary team to ensure staff receive high-quality, evidence-based care.

You will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team, delivering proactive Occupational Health services while adhering to national guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of all staff.

Main duties of the job
  • provide professional clinical nursing service, including health screening of prospective employees and health monitoring of existing employees.
  • Implement National and Local Guidance following changes in legislation from Public Health England.
  • Actively participate in Trust meetings
  • Implementation of a vaccinations/immunisation programmes and provides advice to employees at risk.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patient needs, plan, implement and evaluate care delivery according to changing health care needs. Supporting the individual and advising the manager as appropriate.
  • To manage own workload and prioritise own actions
  • Develop, assist, and participate in health education programmes
  • Work using evidence-based advice and following departmental guidelines with guidance from Specialist OH Nurse.
  • Provision of first-line emotional support to all employees and appropriate onward referral to Staff Counsellor or other clinical staff within the department.
  • Provide appropriate OH advice/information to Trust Managers with guidance from other clinical staff within the department.
  • Liaise with or arrange referrals with external agencies such as GP's, and other Health Service departments.
  • Ensure confidentiality is always maintained.
