Ensure that design, development, manufacture, and modification of devices within the section are carried out within the relevant quality and legislative frameworks. Collaborate with technologists, clinical, and scientific staff to support the implementation of innovative engineering solutions to support the continuous improvement of oncology services. Lead in the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of radiotherapy pre-treatment and treatment delivery systems. Allocate resource to service requests and projects. Train others in equipment management and mechanical engineering skills for use in a healthcare science environment. The post holder will provide project management and technical leadership skills through the demonstration of a high level of understanding of Medical Devices Regulations, the application of risk management to medical devices, and managing the risk associated with bringing custom-made treatment devices into clinical use.
