Tax Assistant (Mixed)

We are working with a well-established independent accountancy firm in Glasgow who are looking to recruit a Tax Assistant to join their growing tax team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid grounding in tax compliance who is keen to continue developing their career in a supportive, professional environment.

The Role

This is a tax compliance–focused position, with responsibilities including:

•  Preparation of Personal Tax Returns (self-assessment, partnerships, trusts where applicable)

•  Preparation of Corporate Tax Returns

•  Liaising with HMRC and responding to routine queries

•  Working closely with senior team members to ensure deadlines are met

•  Maintaining accurate client records and files

This is an office-based role in Glasgow, offering strong exposure to a varied client portfolio.

The Ideal Candidate

•  At least 18 months’ experience working in a tax-focused role within an accountancy practice

•  Experience preparing personal and corporate tax returns OR experience in one but an appetite to work in both

•  Studying or keen to study towards a relevant tax qualification (ATT, CTA)

•  Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work

•  Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
