Pharmacy Technician FTC | Pharmacy | Farnham | Private Hospital | 12 Month Contract
Spire Clare Park Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Department on a 12 month fixed-term contract
Spire Clare Park Hospital is a modern elective hospital located in Farnham and is rated “Good” by the CQC . The hospital provides a broad range of surgical and diagnostic services, including Orthopaedics, General Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, Urology, Dermatology and ENT , supported by state‑of‑the‑art imaging facilities.
Duties and Responsibilities (not limited to)
- Assist the pharmacy team in providing an exemplary pharmacy service to the hospital and its patients, working within your level of competence
- Contribute to the safe and effective use of medicines
- Undertake routine delegated activities accurately and in line with current legislation, professional standards, and Spire Healthcare policies and procedures
- Prepare yourself, equipment, materials, and medicines appropriately for specific tasks
- Accurately dispense medicines according to prescriptions, ensuring all items are checked by a pharmacist
- Prepare small batches of pre‑packed and/or over‑labelled medicines as required, ensuring pharmacist verification
- Accurately record data and information relating to activities and ensure this is passed to the appropriate team member or filed correctly
- Identify and report any significant changes within the pharmacy department or service that may impact patient health and wellbeing
Who are we looking for?
- Previous experience within a pharmacy department (hospital or community)
- NVQ Level 3
- Strong team‑working skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly numerate and literate
- Administrative experience involving checking and monitoring processes
- Ability to handle sensitive and challenging situations in a professional and supportive manner
