ECT Science Teacher - Thriving Secondary School -...
Our client is looking for an Early Career Teacher (ECT) of Science to join a high-performing secondary school in Nottinghamshire. This is a full-time position starting in September 2026, with excellent support and mentoring provided to help you begin your teaching career with confidence.
- ECT Science Teacher required to work on a full-time basis

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed new teacher to launch their career in a school with a strong reputation for academic achievement and pupil progress. The successful candidate will teach Science across KS3 and KS4, with the possibility of contributing to KS5 teaching depending on specialism and experience.
Experience and Qualifications
- ECT Science Teacher (PGCE or equivalent completed)
- Specialism in Biology, Chemistry, or Physics considered
- Passion for Science and enthusiasm for inspiring young people
- Commitment to professional growth and reflective practice
- Legal ability to work within the UK
School Information
This oversubscribed 11–18 academy serves the Newark community and has been rated Good by Ofsted. The school has invested heavily in modern facilities, including refurbished science laboratories, ICT-rich classrooms, and a dedicated Sixth Form centre. Science is a consistently strong department, with students achieving results that place the school above national averages in Progress 8.
In 2023, the majority of students achieved grades 9–4 in both English and Maths, and outcomes in Science subjects were among the strongest at GCSE. At post-16, many students continue into A-Level Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, progressing on to Russell Group universities and STEM-related apprenticeships.
