Job summary
The post-holder will work across Trafford General Hospital and Withington Community Hospital as part of the Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC), participating in a rostered shift system including nights and weekends to meet service requirements. The role involves undertaking a range of sleep diagnostic investigations, working semi-autonomously within defined protocols to perform, analyse, and ensure the quality of sleep studies. The post-holder will identify abnormal findings and escalate where appropriate. In addition, the post-holder will support the initiation and ongoing management of CPAP therapy, including patient education, data review, and troubleshooting to optimise treatment outcomes. - Maintain accurate records of all procedures and interactions with patients in patient clinical notes and departmental database
- Perform, analyse and provide reports of routine investigations within the sleep service, including respiratory sleep studies and CPAP compliance
- Prepare equipment for patients undergoing polygraphy and complex Polysomnography sleep studies
- Attend regular revision courses to ensure advancement of knowledge and to understand principles of testing and treatment procedures used within the service.
- Assist in the tutoring and demonstrating Sleep Medicine and Sleep Physiology to university students undertaking pre and post graduate degrees in Clinical Physiology for Modernising Scientific Careers pathway and other advanced Sleep Medicine training.
