Do you want to help shape the future of OPAT across one of the UK's largest NHS Trusts? We are seeking a motivated pharmacist to join the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) team at University Hospitals Birmingham, based at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to develop specialist expertise within a well-established and innovative service while helping shape the future delivery of OPAT across the Trust. As a key member of the OPAT MDT, you will provide specialist pharmaceutical care to patients receiving complex antimicrobial therapy. You will participate in OPAT clinics, MDT meetings, review referrals, assess patient suitability for OPAT and lead medicines optimisation throughout the patient pathway. Independent prescribing skills are essential, enabling direct contribution to clinical decision-making and patient management. Working closely with infection specialists, antimicrobial stewardship pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, specialist nurses and community providers, you will support safe, effective and patient-centred antimicrobial treatment while promoting antimicrobial stewardship.
