Area Manager - Cleaning
VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting an experienced Area Manager for a leading facilities management provider. Our client delivers cleaning and support services to a wide range of major contracts. They're looking for a commercially minded operational leader to take ownership of a portfolio of sites across Greater Belfast, driving service standards, client satisfaction and profitability. Location : Greater Belfast (multi-site)Salary : Competitive, plus car allowance / company vehicle (dependent on experience)
Hours : Full-time, Monday-Friday, with occasional evening and weekend flexibility About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the delivery of multiple cleaning contracts, making sure service levels and contractual requirements are consistently met
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, building strong, long-term relationships
- Carrying out site inspections and quality audits, and putting corrective actions in place where needed
- Recruiting, training and developing site supervisors and cleaning teams
- Managing staffing levels, rotas, attendance and performance across the portfolio
- Controlling budgets, labour costs and consumables to hit profitability targets
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, COSHH and risk assessments
- Investigating incidents and complaints, and driving continuous improvement
- Producing performance reports, leading client review meetings and spotting opportunities for contract growth
What You Will Need
Essential
- Proven experience managing multi-site cleaning or facilities management contracts
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Experience managing budgets and labour costs
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and COSHH
- Strong organisational and IT skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- A Facilities Management or Cleaning Management qualification (e.g. BICSc, IWFM, IOSH)
- Experience in a contract-led FM environment
