Location: Plymouth, Devon
Contract: Full-Time
Daily Rate: £140-£160, dependent on experience and qualifications
Perhaps it's the freedom to bring more creativity into your teaching.
A team that actually shares ideas and resources.
The opportunity to strengthen an area of your practice.
Or simply a school where you can concentrate on what you became a teacher to do: teach well and help children develop a genuine enthusiasm for learning.
We're recruiting a Primary Teacher in Plymouth to join a supportive education setting where collaboration, inclusive teaching and professional development are genuinely encouraged.
This is an opportunity to bring your existing experience into the classroom while continuing to develop as a teacher yourself.
Create a Classroom Children Want to Be Part OfGreat primary teaching isn't about delivering exactly the same lesson to thirty different children.
It's noticing who's ready to be challenged.
Who needs something explained differently.
Who has stopped putting their hand up because they've lost confidence.
And who might need a little more support before they're ready to succeed independently.
You'll plan and deliver engaging learning across the Primary National Curriculum , adapting your teaching so children with different abilities, experiences and additional needs can participate and progress.
You'll:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons.
- Create an inclusive classroom where children feel safe to participate, ask questions and make mistakes.
- Adapt teaching to meet different abilities and learning needs.
- Use assessment to understand progress and plan appropriate next steps.
- Establish positive routines and clear expectations.
- Encourage curiosity, confidence and independent learning.
- Support children's academic, social and emotional development.
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support colleagues.
- Share ideas, resources and effective classroom strategies.
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
No teacher arrives at a new school as the finished product.
You may be particularly strong at creating engaging lessons, building relationships with pupils or establishing a positive classroom culture.
There may also be areas you'd like to develop further.
The setting encourages teachers to share practice, learn from experienced colleagues and continue developing professionally , rather than working behind a closed classroom door.
You'll also have access to quality teaching resources and educational technology to support your practice.
What You'll BringYou'll need Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate equivalent qualification , together with previous primary teaching experience.
We're looking for someone who:
- Understands the Primary National Curriculum.
- Can plan learning with clear progression and purpose.
- Uses assessment effectively to inform teaching.
- Creates an inclusive environment for different learners.
- Has strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
- Communicates confidently with children, colleagues and families.
- Enjoys contributing ideas and working collaboratively.
- Is reflective about their own practice.
- Wants to continue developing professionally.
Above all, you'll be someone who believes good teaching combines high expectations with an understanding that children don't all reach them in exactly the same way .
Your Career Should Keep Developing TooA new teaching role shouldn't simply mean moving from one classroom to another.
It can be an opportunity to broaden your experience, strengthen your practice and discover where you might want your career to go next.
That could eventually mean developing expertise in SEND, curriculum development, subject leadership, pastoral support, mentoring or wider school leadership .
Or your priority might simply be finding an environment where you can become an even better classroom teacher.
Both are valuable forms of progression.
You'll benefit from:
- £140-£160 per day , dependent on experience and qualifications.
- A full-time teaching opportunity in Plymouth.
- A supportive and inclusive working environment.
- Professional development opportunities.
- Access to high-quality resources and educational technology.
- Collaboration with experienced education professionals.
Children benefit from teachers who are enthusiastic about being there.
Teachers are far more likely to feel that enthusiasm when they're somewhere their ideas are welcomed, their expertise is valued and their own development hasn't stopped .
If you're a qualified Primary Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Plymouth , we'd like to hear from you.
The successful candidate will be subject to appropriate safeguarding and safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
