Maintenance Engineer - Electrically Biased

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturing business for an experienced Maintenance Engineer - Electrically Biased to join their Worksop facility.

This is a hands-on engineering role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing essential breakdown and preventative maintenance support across a varied range of production machinery.

The Role

Working on a rotating 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm shift pattern , you will be responsible for maintaining equipment, responding to breakdowns and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, productivity and safety.

You will be working across both electrical and mechanical systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical fault-finding and diagnostics .

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond quickly to breakdowns.

• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults using a structured approach.

• Fault-find on electrical systems from 415V through to 24VDC .

• Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

• Work with inverters, servo drives and DC drives .

• Diagnose and maintain pneumatic systems.

• Complete risk assessments and ensure machinery is safely returned to production.

• Support operator training and competence assessments.

• Identify and implement improvements to machinery and manufacturing processes.

• Help improve equipment reliability, efficiency and productivity.

• Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and engineering standards.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally be apprentice-trained with a strong electrical bias and previous experience within a manufacturing or factory environment.

Essential experience includes:

• Strong electrical engineering and fault-finding capability.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.

• Experience working with 415V-24VDC systems .

• Experience with inverters, servo and DC drives .

• Good understanding of pneumatics.

• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings.

• Previous manufacturing/factory maintenance experience.

• Working knowledge of injection moulding machinery - essential.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.

• Apprentice-trained engineering background preferred.
